The early 125's were of course De Havilland 125's and all 125's are known as "Hawkers" in the USA. The c/n plate on all HS.125 models can usually be found (where ?). |

The first in a long line of very successful corporate jets makes in the UK at Chester. The original HS.125-1 design was modified with engine changes and other subtle upgrades to produce the 1A, the T.1 Dominie for the RAF, the 3A and 3B, the 400 and the fan engined 731. Externally there is little difference between the models apart from, in some cases, the engines. |
| This model can be identified by its slightly taller fin and more pointed nose cone. Otherwise it is identical to early 125 models. |

The -700 has a slightly longer nose cone than the -600 but the giveaway is the larger fan engines. -700's however can be confused with the -731 version of the basic HS.125 model. |
| The -800 was the first model to feature the new sleek wrap-around windscreen, its primary identification point. |

The -1000 has a slightly longer fuselage than the -800 allowing an extra passenger window to be added. The thrust reverser assembly on the engines of the -1000 is also different making it easily distinguishable from the -800. The HS.125-1000 was renamed the BAe 1000 and when Raytheon bought the rights to the aircraft the production line moved from Chester to Wichita in Kansas. |
